"Walking on Turtle Island" defies typical cultural stereotypes by bringing a true contemporay Native perspective to the screen.  Expanding into an episodic series, this show tells authentic stories of Native America through the lives and struggles of the people our heroes are sent to help. Provoked and quirky, these two characters lead the audience with humor, insight, dignity and the uplifting Native spirit that transforms us, as we witness them shape-shift and walk the continent known as "Turtle Island". The film is created, stars, and is directed by Native People, dedicated to All Nations, All People.

    I ain't homeless...I'm nomadic...

Unique Indian humor and unusual characters that voice todays quirky attitudes and edginess carry the themes in this show. Our hero, Stands in the Fire, struggles to accept this afterlife fate; assigned by the elders in the spirit world to help all people all over Turtle Island (north America) through Native American philosophy and wisdom; His only connection to his People, a character he loves to hate, the obnoxiously endearing Iktomi.  Riding a Lightening bolt  from the open plains of 1876 into  the heart of Los Angeles 2008 is hard on a “tribal guy who is already far from home." With many adventures in front of them, this unlikely pair “owe it to the creator” to do what is asked of them.

Brilliantly directed under the passionate, intuitive eyes of Ian D. Skorodin, and fine art detail  from Assistant Director John Cole, the film will enchant you and take you to new insights in the "NDN" world.
